These special ceramic ornaments are made by artist Emily Counts in her Seattle studio, St. Eloy. Each piece is formed by hand using stoneware and a glossy glaze. Then Emily applies her signature symbol and shape decals. Due to the handmade process each bead is entirely unique so no two are alike. Leaving Emily's ornaments out all year 'round is never in question. We most certainly do it. We hang them on a doorknob (that is not often used) or on a hook on the wall to remind us that life is exquisite and festive and we are here to notice and appreciate that fact.
